It is a cloud- based data integration service that orchestrates and automates the movement and transformation of data.

Second, you can create data integration solutions using a Data Factory service that can ingest data from various data stores, transform/process the data, and publish the result data to the data stores. Thirdly, the ability to call various transformation services as part of the pipeline makes innovation of new services and capabilities relatively simple and quick.

For example, Online retailers commonly want to entice their customers to purchase products by presenting them with personalised recommendations based on their current and historical shopping behaviour data. Data Factory schedules and manages the entire process so that finished data is reliably produced and delivered to users, and data and processing dependencies are automatically managed without human intervention. By providing this personalised shopping experience, the online retailer created a more competitive, engaging customer experience and therefore increase sales and overall customer satisfaction.
