Killer Innovation 5 – It is simple to build intelligence into your apps to enable natural and contextual interactions
Enhancing the capability of your apps to offer customers new and innovative services is always important. You want to build smarter and more engaging services that bring the knowledge of the web right into the experience, while interacting with users in a natural way, and across multiple languages.
Microsoft Cognitive Services is a collection of APIs that enables developers to build intelligent apps by tapping into high-quality vision, speech, language, knowledge, and search technologies which are provided as a cloud service.
The Language API Allows your apps to process natural language, evaluate sentiment and topics, and learn how to recognise what users want. The Vision API uses Image processing algorithms to build more personalised apps by returning smart insights such as faces, images and emotion recognition.
The Speech API Processes spoken language in your applications. The Search API makes your apps, web pages and other experiences smarter and more engaging with the Bing Search APIs. Finally, the Knowledge API maps complex information and data in order to solve tasks such as intelligent recommendations and semantic search.
Uber wanted to have drivers take so that Uber could compare the driver’s selfie with the photo on file. However, this visual verification had to be fast, easy, scalable and work well on a range of smartphones.
Uber considered developing the technology internally, but the company knew that would take a lot of time. It decided instead to use the Face API from Microsoft, and integrated it into their platform in three weeks.
